Reduce, reuse, recycle

Over the weekend, my husband and I were mulchers. We took branches and compost material from those plants that didn't survive from the cold temps. They have been sitting in an area considered our mulch pile. As we created this beautiful homemade mulch by breaking down the branches, leaves, twigs and more, the covered area that was our mulch pile now has this incredible fertile soil with many, many worms and other critters! We have officially made this our new compost pile and have already started another mulch pile which will eventually be our composte in the future.
After 'breaking down' the material and using it to mulch our garden and yard, it was time for a drink!
I went to the fridge and grabbed lots of goodness to make a fresh garden juice. Fortunately, I had organic celery, carrots, apple, cucumber, zucchini, arugula, ginger, beets, cilantro, tomato. It was a delicious juice. Since it was Mother's Day and my mother gave me life, I shared some with her to extend hers! My juicer leaves the pulp behind and since I was leaving, I immediately saved the pulped for future use.
The next day, I soaked flax seeds over night. They feel gooey. Try some of the gooey flax oil on your skin! I mixed a heaping cup of the soaked flax seeds with the 1-2 cups pulp (reused veggies) plus a cup of almond flour, banana and a splash of apple juice so it wasn't so thick. These were baked for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. There came out so delicious.
So, to recap...First, we were breaking down materials to mulch and feed the soil which, in turn, is used to feed us (the garden). Then, you take those organic materials (whether you grow them or not), break it down to feed your soul. If there is anything left to use, learn ways to reuse or recycle them (compost).
